Romania has a strong background in the IT sector which continues to rapidly grow. The sector focuses on all activities to help companies better manage their activities, economic applications, financial applications, website creation and maintenance and also tailor-made IT solutions for clients.

As a result, Romania has attracted many multinational companies in the IT industry such as:

• ORACLE
• SAP
• IBM
• HP
• SIEMENS

Foreign companies continue to invest in Romania's IT industry year after year, building new centers, contracting new employees and buying new technologies.

Romania has invested heavily in its IT future:

• The Romanian labor market is highly qualified in IT development;
• There is a sufficiently developed national infrastructure allowing a strong growth in the IT industry;
• The tradition of investment in the electronic and electric engineering fields is ongoing;
• The Romanian government supports training, education and research in IT fields.

Since 2002, the IT industry in Romania has exported 800 million EUR in production per year. In the recent years, the sector has grown more than 10%.
