Naming Romanian companies
Until September 2012, the term Societatea Comerciala, or SC, meaning corporation, was required to precede was the name of Romanian companies.
Now only the term “societatea” meaning “company” must precede the name of Romanian companies.
Romanian companies incorporated under the old regime using the terms “societetae comerciala” must change their company name to conform to the new rule. They must also register it with the Registry of Commerce after a general shareholders meeting chooses the new name along with their updated policies.
